The above
illustration shows a neat Hopper arrangement to obtain ventilation
through a Stallboard 3 × 2 squares, that is, 18 × 12 ins.
are left open. The Stallboard frame is completed all through, and
prevents anyone getting through or tampering with the Hopper
arrangement on the inside—which is opened and closed by a rack
and pinion, and when closed the whole front presents an uniform
appearance, as if there was no portion to open at all—see
illustration below and on page 70, which is a photo from H. B. &
E.'s new premises:—
