This Dec 30, 1885 letter to the Pleasant Valley Wine Co. of Rheims, Steuben County, New York, is in Geo. K. Dauchy's personal atrocious hand-- very hard to decipher! It seems to read:

Gentlemen, Please send me your quotations on your champagne. I have mislaid your letter giving me the figures. Yours Truly, Geo K Dauchy

Not very vault-lights related, eh?

The letterhead reads "Office of / DAUCHY & CO., / manufacturers of / Patent Vault and Sidewalk Lights, / vault and coal hole covers always on hand, / 125 & 127 Indiana Street, Chicago"
