To all whom it may concern: Be it known that I, WILLIAM B. JACOBS, of the borough of Brooklyn, New York city, in the State of New York, have invented and produced a certain new and original Design for a Glass or Light; and I do hereby declare that the following is a full, clear, and exact description thereof, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, in which— Figure 1 is a perspective view of a glass or light embodying my design, and Fig. 2 a cross-section of the same. Letters of like name and kind refer to like parts in each of the figures. The object of my invention is to provide a design for a glass or light for illuminating gratings; and to this end said invention consists in the design for a glass or light, substantially as hereinafter set forth. The leading feature of my design consists of parallel ribs on the glass or light, each of which has a triangular form in cross-section, |
the sides of the triangle being respectively convex and concave, which ribs
alternate with other ribs that are smaller and are triangular in
cross-section. The glass is in the form of a rectangular plate A, having a series of parallel ribs B and B, that are triangular in cross-section, the sides of each rib being respectively convex and concave. Alternating with the ribs B and B are smaller angular or prismatic ribs C and C. Having thus described my invention, what I claim is— The design for a glass or light, substantially as shown and described. In testimony that I claim the foregoing I have hereunto set my hand this 30th day of September, 1898.
